Boo at the Zoo - Griffith Park
The Los Angeles Zoo is transformed into themed areas for trick-or-treaters with performances, pumpkin carving, crafts and creepy crawlies for two weekends.
Location: The LA Zoo, 5333 Zoo Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90027 in Griffith Park off the 5 Freeway.

Long Beach Zombie Walk
The Long Beach Zombie Walk, which originated as a spontaneous march down 4th street has evolved into a full-blown 3-day zombie-themed music and arts festival at Rainbow Lagoon with multiple stages and dozens of bands. Friday night is Zombie Prom night. Saturday is the official Zombie Walk, and Sunday is Zombie Children's Day. Food and drinks will be available for sale and downtown businesses will participate with special ZombieTown offers for attendees.

Scarium of the Pacific - Long Beach
The Aquarium of the Pacific hosts a weekend of magic, scary stories, crafts and a creepy coloring contest and children’s costume contest and trick-or-treating for kids under 12. They are also having a Family Sleepover Friday the same weekend.

Heritage Square Halloween and Mourning Tours
During these special weekend tours, guests will visit a house in mourning, learn about the origins of Halloween and the Victorian fascination with ghosts and spirituality, see a traditional altar for Dia de los Muertos and more. On Sunday, Children ages 2 to 12 are invited to come in costume, play period games, enjoy and make in 19th century harvest crafts, choose a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, listen to spooky stories, and receive treats from costumed interpreters.

Haunted Trails in Laguna Niguel
This year's mazes and tents will be populated with scary versions of fairytale characters from Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel & Gretel and Rapunzel. Not recommended for children under 8.

Anaheim Fall Festival and Halloween Parade, plus Motel 6 Feet Under
A Saturday family festival with booths, carnival rides, concerts, a haunted house, costume contest and the Spooktacular Halloween Parade. For 2014, Anaheim is adding a new haunted attraction, Motel 6 Feet Under.
