How to Decorate With a Window Above Your Bed
- 1). Maintain balance by centering your bed to the window. If the window serves as a backdrop to the bed itself, it becomes an extension of that main focal point of the room. Center the bed with the window at the head or at the side of the bed, whichever works best for the space.
- 2). Create a dreamy allure by hanging sheer curtain panels on your window. Sheer fabrics are ideal if you prefer having the morning sun shine into your room. Play with a few different styles, colors and patterns. Drape a long panel over the top of a double curtain rod and a complementary color hanging from the lower rod.
- 3). Hang a light-blocking curtain in your window if you prefer a darker room. Light-blocking curtains come in many colors and patterns, so hang a solid and stripe or other pattern. Adjusting a curtain rod across the width of the bed for this look gives the appearance of a headboard, anchoring the bed in the room.
- 4). Balance your bed against the window by accessorizing on both sides of the area. Hang pictures, candle sconces, light fixtures or place complementing nightstands on both sides of the bed.
