    • 1). Change your desktop from the default desktop setting. Click on Apple menu, choose System Preferences and click on Desktop tab. An array of folders will appear that contain preinstalled images. Choose the image you would like to set as your desktop background. Close the images window, and your new desktop picture is in effect.

    • 2). Change your screensaver. Click on the Apple icon located on the top left-hand side. Scroll down and click on System Preferences. Click the Desktop and Screen Saver button to display its preferences. Click one of the screen saver items in the left pane to select it to use as your new screen saver. Click Test to see how the screen saver will look in use.

    • 3). Change your system sounds. Click on the Apple icon at the top left. Open System Preferences and click on Sounds to display sound preferences. Create an alert by clicking on the Sound Effect tab and selecting from one of the many sounds displayed. Adjust the Alert Volume and the Output Volume by using the sliding arrows to adjust up or down.
