Jesus Is the True Love That Binds
Above all put on love which is the perfect bond is what the Bible says.
So what does this mean? When me and my wife first got married, I remember an elderly man, which we respect and consider a mentor held me and my wife's hands and pull them together.
Then he told us, that we must each seek Jesus individually and as a couple because Satan, our sinful nature and the troubles of the world will try to pull us apart.
But if we seek Jesus and obey what He said then, He will pull us back together no matter what we go through.
Coincidentally, this is exactly what happened in our marriage.
Me and my wife went through many hardships, which literally took us to point of thinking, we made a mistake, we each married the wrong person, this isn't going to work out.
Remembering this advice, me and my wife decided to follow Jesus no matter what.
And as we did, remembering his teachings and how we should love one another, how we should forgive one another, treat each other with tender feelings of mercy and kindness, our marriage little by little got stronger and closer.
This is the perfect bond.
God is Love.
If He's in the middle of our marriage and we make the decision to follow Him and obey Him, then He will help you make your marriage persevere, because it's His will.
He's a God of reconciliation.
So why do many marriages that believe in Jesus end up in divorce, for the same reason marriages that don't believe break up, because they choose to do things their way.
It's not just believing that will make a difference in your marriage, it's obeying and applying the teachings of Jesus.
As you really draw closer to Jesus, and I'm not talking about following a religion, I'm talking about having a personal relationship with Him through prayer and reading about His teachings, you will draw closer to your spouse and vice versa, because that's what Love does, it draws people together.
Jesus is Love, and He is the perfect bond for our marriage.
We are not perfect, we are sinners and our sinful nature will always lead us to make the wrong choices.
But in Jesus there is always mercy and forgiveness, and as we remember this, we will express this mercy and forgiveness in our marriage with our partners, which in turn will strengthen our marriage.
