Can Windows Be Used in PSP Without a Flash Player Installed?
- The Windows XP on PSP system, also called WinPSPortal, was developed originally to work with firmware 2.0 for PSP. It is a freeware application that has been continually updated with each new version of the PSP's firmware.
- The system emulates certain features of Windows XP without actually being a new operating system. Rather, it mimics some of the standard Windows functions on your PSP, along with installing the most common Windows-based games.
- Windows XP for PSP includes the following accessories and applications: text editor, game collection organizer (with wish list, playing, and favorites list), calendar, stopwatch, calculator, text reader, and a number of Windows-based games (battleship blackjack, box-in, checkers minesweeper, pegs, hangman, and Tetris). It also stores bookmarks and email links that you can use in the PSP's web browser.
- The system provides easy access to many of the PSP's functions, which are otherwise scattered around its menu interface. By placing them under the familiar Windows structure, you can easily use your PSP as a functional multimedia device rather than just a game machine.
- You can install custom backgrounds and themes in addition to the usual Windows backgrounds. The Legend of Zelda and other popular game themes are easily available online.
