How to Juice Kohlrabi
- 1). Wash and chop the kohlrabi and any other vegetables and fruits that you want to juice. Carrots, beets or apples are all good options for adding sweetness and balancing the pungent flavor of kohlrabi.
- 2). Plug in your electric juicer or blender, depending on the texture of juice you prefer. A blender will yield a thicker, pulpier juice; a juicer will yield a thinner, pulpless juice. If you are using an electric juicer, run the fruits and vegetables of your choosing through the machine. If you are using a blender, place the chopped kohlrabi and other fruits and vegetables in the blender. Add enough water to help you blend easily. A good rule of thumb when blending hard vegetables like kohlrabi is to use 1/3 as much water as food.
- 3). Continue juicing until you have your desired quantity of juice. If you find that your juice is too thick or has too much pulp, you can strain it through a fine mesh strainer or sieve.
- 4). Drink your healthful homemade juice. Refrigerate any leftover juice in a sealed container or pitcher and enjoy for up to one week.
