How to Use the Trimble Survey Controller
- 1). Turn the controller on by pressing the "Cntrl" and "Esc" buttons simultaneously. Alternatively, connect the controller to a computer via the provided USB connection cord, click on the "Start" button found in the bottom left corner, click "Programs" and click "Survey Controller."
- 2). Tap "File" on the touch display screen with your index finger or the stylus. Tap "New" and title the file to start a new data set for a current surveying job. Tap "File" and select the job file just created each time you need to add to or make an inquiry about the data gathered pertaining to current work.
- 3). Key in new data by taping the "Field" button with your index finger or stylus, then type in the numeric or alphanumeric data. Tap the "Enter" button with your index finger or stylus to confirm the added value.
- 4). Tap the "Bearing" button with your index finger or stylus and key in the directional bearing associated with the acquired data in the bearing field. Tap the "Enter" button with your index finger or stylus to confirm and save.
- 5). Set up the controller on its tripod. Tap the main menu button, then tap "Survey" and "Stakeout." Locate stakes positioned in a grid pattern on the land using the rover receiver. Tap "Key in Data" when a stake has been located. Locate all the stakes one by one and key in the data to create an accurate data set based on the topography of the land.
- 6). Create a map of your current job by tapping the "Map" button with your index finger or stylus, tapping "Files," and tapping the file name associated with the data set you want mapped.
