How to Install Inner Glass on an Oven Door
- 1). Unplug the power cord of the oven from the wall socket. Although you will not be working with any electrical components, it is a good idea to disconnect the power supply to avoid accidental electrocution.
- 2). Open the oven door and locate the hinge lock clips on each side of the door. Unlock the hinge lock clips by flipping the clip up with a flathead screwdriver. Place a nail into the empty hole on each door hinge. Close the door, as far as the nail will allow, and then lift the door off of the hinges.
- 3). Place a thick towel on the floor and set the oven door on the towel with the inside of the door facing up. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws at the top of the door that secure the inside panel to the front panel.
- 4). Remove the two screws on the bottom edge of the door that secure the hinge hangers to the inner door panel with a Phillips-head screwdriver. The hinge hangers are on each side of the door. The hanger runs from the top of the door to the bottom, and the hinges hook into the bottom of the hinge hanger. The screws will be on the bottom edge directly underneath each hinge hanger. Lift the hinge hangers out of the door slot.
- 5). Lift the inner door panel out of the door and remove the insulation from around the inner glass. Some oven doors secure the inner glass to the outer glass with four screws. Remove any retaining screws attaching the inner glass assembly with a Phillips-head screwdriver. If your inner glass assembly does not require securing screws, you can pull it right out of the door.
- 6). Take the entire assembly with you to an appliance repair facility. Purchase the inner glass assembly as a whole unit, frame included. Compare the size and shape of the new glass assembly to the old assembly to ensure that the new assembly is correct for your oven.
- 7). Set the inner glass assembly into the oven door and secure with the retaining screws if your model uses them. Place the insulation around the inner door glass assembly and set the inner door panel over the insulation and glass.
- 8). Insert the hinge hangers on each side of the door panel, securing the hangers with the retaining screws. Secure the top of the door panel by reinstalling the retaining screws at the top of the oven door.
- 9). Grab the door sides with both hands and position the hinge hangers over the hinges on the oven. Push the bottom of the door straight down into the hinges to lock them in place. Push the oven door down to the fully open position.

Pull the nails out of the hinges and push the hinge locks back down to engage the hinge locks. Close the oven door and plug the oven back into the wall outlet.
