Deciding to paint a room in the home most certainly means that you will be interested in making a special space with the right atmosphere.
If you are looking for something that will dazzle or maybe you are aiming for a tranquil and quiet space, choosing the color will do more for setting the mood and tone of the room than anything else.
Think of the following tips about the differences in colors as you choose how to redecorate and paint the room you are thinking about.
None of these rules are set in stone, but psychologically, the things I'm about to share with you have been noted through the course of many studies about colors and their impact.
Red creates a mood of aggressiveness.
Having small amounts of red tone in the design can help stimulate a feeling of energy.
But, be careful not to use too much of red because it can also create a stressful mood in the room.
Yellow will create an atmosphere of cheeriness and brightness.
Using yellow in small doses will accentuate a joyful and happy space.
Using too much yellow can have the opposite effect, making you tired and lethargic.
Blue has been linked to an increase in feelings of sadness and depression.
Because of these, think about using blue in smaller doses with moderation.
Green is a great color that contributes to a feeling of balance.
Be careful though, painting the whole room green can actually increase negative thoughts and attitudes.
It will naturally depend upon the tone of the green to some degree as well.
Lighter, softer ones can be alright when done in moderation but too much of a darker or deeper green can definitely signify the anxiety and negativity that you'll most likely want to avoid.
Therefore, you'd be best suited using green in small doses without overdoing things when it comes to the overall look of the room.
Keep in mind that using colors in moderation is the most important part of choosing the look of a room.
This is the case whether or not you are going for a wild and crazy room, or something a little more peaceful.
It is important to think how the long term effect of the colors will affect mood.
Finding balance with your chosen colors will help make the room project the mood and atmosphere you are hoping to accomplish.
Following these highlights will help make the room give the look and feel you that you want.
