How to Set Up a Pull Up Bar
- 1). Use your shovel to dig two holes that measure up to 3 feet deep and are about 4 feet apart. Each hole should be about 12 inches in diameter. If you have ample cement, this can be increased to 18 inches for added stability.
- 2). Take the 4-foot-long threaded pipe and fasten the elbow joints to either end.
- 3). Attach one of the 2-inch-wide, 7-foot-long pipes to each elbow joint. The structure should now look like an upside down "U." Set the structure aside for a moment.
- 4). Mix the cement according to directions. Lower the bar into the holes and pour cement around the base of the pipes, filling the holes. Place the cement blocks around the base of the filled holes to hold them in place while the cement in them sets.
- 5). Allow the structure to dry and cure for up to 48 hours before use. You can remove the cement blocks or leave them in place. Once the cement is dry, they won't be necessary.
