Family Activities in Beaver Creek, Colorado
- Comprised of 48 acres of open space located at the base of Beaver Creek, this lake offers fishing and paddleboats during the warmer months and ice skating and ice fishing during the winter. There are picnic tables and barbecue grills available for enjoying scenic family meals, and playgrounds for children. Paths weave throughout the park for walking, jogging and in-line skating. Nottingham Park also has plenty of athletic fields and tennis, volleyball, and basketball courts to play on.
- This large, family-owned outdoor ice rink is located in the center of Beaver Creek Village. Patrons can learn to skate in group classes or take a parent/child class here. Your family will be sure to enjoy the Disco Skate Night, which features a DJ spinning music from the 1970s and a light show while you skate. The rink is open daily, with skate and helmet rentals available.
- Mountain Mushers Dog Sled Rides has a smooth private trail among the beauty of the Beaver Creek area. Enjoy the beauty of winter and see wildlife, trees and majestic mountains while being pulled by 12 huskies. Their 6-mile, two-hour tour rides are run twice daily, morning and afternoon. Two guests per sled for adults and kids ages 4 and up can ride.
- There are several walking and trail tours available at Beaver Creek. For a unique experience, try an evening walking tour with snowshoes under the stars and moonlight. Check out the mountain side on Tuesday evenings, departing from the Beaver Creek Nordic Center. Snowshoes and headlamps are provided, and you can warm yourself up with the hot cocoa and cookies that are served at the end of the tour. If you really enjoy snowshoeing, you and your family can enter the Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series, a race for cash prizes held the first weeks of January, February and March.
- Beaver Creek resort offers exceptional skiing and snowboarding. Some of the top ski schools in the country are located here. Children and adults, whether beginners or experts, can brush up on their skills from professional instructors. Afterward, hit the slopes and the many world-class ski trails available on Beaver Creek Mountain.
- Haymaker Tubing Hill has four lanes that are 300 feet in length. Take the Buckaroo Express Gondola lift up the hill and pick up speed as you slide down on an inner tube. This is a thrilling ride for the whole family. Open December 21 to April 3, children must be 36 inches or taller.
- At the base of Beaver Creek Mountain, you will find a safe, challenging climbing wall with many routes to the top. Your family can work on their climbing skills while practicing different holds and trying to figure out how to maneuver up the wall. Open weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
