How to Add Endpoints to Lines in InDesign

    • 1). Click on the Pen tool in the Adobe InDesign toolbox. Draw a straight or curved line of the length you need.

    • 2). Choose "Swatches" from the Window menu to open the Swatches panel if it isn't already visible. Click on the "Stroke" swatch to bring it forward, and then click on one of the color swatches in the list to set the stroke color of your line. Click on the "Fill" swatch to bring it forward, and click on the "None" swatch to make sure your object has no fill.

    • 3). Choose "Stroke" from the Window menu to open the Stroke panel if it isn't already visible. Enter a value in the "Weight" field to set the stroke weight of your line. Click on the "Type" drop-down menu to set the line style to solid, dashed, dotted, wavy or any other pattern in the list.

    • 4). Click on the "Start" drop-down menu in the Stroke panel to choose an ornament for the beginning of your line. Your options include arrowheads, boxes, circles and bars.

    • 5). Click on the "End" drop-down menu in the Stroke panel to decorate the end of your line. Your choices include arrow tails, along with the same ornaments available as line beginnings.
