Instructions for Lining a Christmas Cake Tin
- 1). Lay the tin flat onto the parchment paper. Trace around the perimeter of the tin with a pencil. This circle will line the base of your tin.
- 2). Cut the circle out, cutting just inside the line. Place the circle into the base of the tin and press it into place.
- 3). Measure the perimeter and height of the cake tin. Mark the perimeter measurement on the parchment paper.
- 4). Add 2 inches to the height measurement and mark this value on the parchment paper. Cut the strip you've marked out of the parchment paper and place it into the tin. It should fit nicely around the sides of the tin with extra paper extending up over the top.
- 5). Cut a length of butcher's paper to the same dimensions as used for lining the sides of the pan.
- 6). Wrap the butcher paper around the outside of the pan. Then wrap twine around the paper and tie a knot to hold it in place. This paper will prevent the cake from getting too browned.
