3 Diet Tips On How To Get A Flat Stomach

103 12
As a fitness trainer, I often get asked how to get a flat stomach.
Having sexy abs is probably one of the most desired body parts by many, yet one of the most difficult to achieve.
Unfortunately, doing a thousand crunches a day is just not going to cut it when trying to get a flat stomach.
Diet is as important, if not more important, for leaning out your midsection.
So if you're trying to flatten up that tummy follow these easy diet tips to start noticing some major differences in your abs.
  1. Abs are made in the kitchen so get rid of the junk.
It's very important that you take your diet seriously if you want to get a flat stomach.
And yes that means you will have to start giving up calorie laden foods full of sugar, fat, and empty calories.
This includes cutting out drinks such as sodas, alcohol, and sweetened beverages such as sweet tea or juice drinks.
It also means cutting out fried foods, fatty dairy products, fatty meats such as sausage or ribeye steaks, potato chips, and sugary foods such as cereal, candy, or granola bars.
I know it's a lot to give up but you do want to get a flat stomach right?
  2. Eat more often to burn more fat.
If you eat only a meal or two a day, then chances are you'll never see those abs.
When you don't eat every few hours your body goes into starvation mode which signals your body to store fat.
Not exactly what you want your body doing when you're trying to get rid of fat.
So instead, eat often, every 3-4 hours, so that your metabolism stays high burning lots of fat, especially that fat around your mid section.
  3. Kick your sodium habit.
Sodium can cause you to bloat and bloating is going to make it very difficult to ever see those abs.
So start reading labels and paying attention to how much sodium you are getting in your diet.
Ideally, you will keep your daily sodium to less than 2400 mg; however, when you start paying attention to this you may notice it's not as easy as you thought.
Your best bet is to avoid packaged and processed foods as well as limiting how often you eat out at restaurants.
And if you're not sure how much salt is in something, always read the labels or do a search online for the foods or restaurant.
Often you can find the nutrition facts and sodium content easily online.
