Whether you are a seasoned professional gardener or a novice; you will find that there are lot's of people who are willing to share with you their tips on the best way to plant or care for your vegetable garden.
Of all the gardening tips you may come across, here are a few to keep in mind.
You can get rid of pests naturally, without chemicals.
One of the biggest problems many gardeners face is how to effectively deal with insects on their plants.
You need to be cautious here and choose the right solution which will deal with the pest issue, without harming the plants.
What you will need to do is find a solution which will allow you to deal effectively with pests in a safe manner.
One of the first things you should do is to remove the insects from the plants.
A routine of daily cleaning will allow you to take control of the insects and also allow you to monitor the overall health of your plants so you can see if all your efforts are working.
One good way to clean the plant is by using an organic insecticidal soap.
This will kill the offending bugs by smothering them as they come in contact with the soap.
Apply the soap liberally and often enough to remove all the pests.
When is the best time to start seeding? A mistake a lot of gardeners make is not paying attention to the right time to start the seeds.
One thing for sure, you don't want to start too early.
If you plant too early in the year you will risk having all your young plants killed by a freeze.
In all but the coldest regions, a good rule of thumb is around mid -March.
Another good way to accomplish this is by starting your plants indoors, then moving them outside once they are strong enough to survive outside.
This will involve a bit more planning as far as timing but essentially you will plant the seeds and be able to move them outdoors within about 6 weeks.
Depending on the type of plants, this will give you a week or two for seed germination and then around a month of growth before you move them outside.
These are just a few very basic tips out of the hundreds which are available.
The more you learn the better your garden will be.
Gardening is a very enjoyable activity when you follow a few basic steps.
If you are interested in starting an organic vegetable garden you should try to learn as much as you can before you plant to have a garden you can really be proud of.
