  Historic Jerome, Arizona is known as America's Most Vertical City and the Largest Ghost Town in America. The town was once a thriving mining community, but is now home to only 450 people. However, it has retained its old West charm, and was named a National Historic District in 1967. The town is only 90 miles from Phoenix and 20 miles from the beautiful red rocks of Sedona. While you are in town, be sure to check out Jerome's many charming restaurants, as well as Gold King Mine and Ghost Town and the Jerome Winery. Jerome Grand Hotel

• The Jerome Grand Hotel is located in what used to be a hospital, and the original building has been standing since 1927. It was renovated in 1994, but is still in close to original condition. The hotel is the highest building in Jerome and offers breathtaking views of the Verde Valley. The beautiful, cozy interior features special touches such as antique phones and the 1926 Otis elevator. The hotel offers a Room and Ride Package in partnership with the Verde Valley Railroad, as well as Ghost Hunt tours on select weekday nights.

Mile High Inn

• The Mile High Inn, located on historic Main Street, offers guests "An eclectic blend of southwestern meets continental." The inn is situated above the Mile High Grill, known for its delicious hand-pressed Angus burgers and southwest fare. For those who prefer to be close to downtown excitement, the Mile High Inn is ideal.
  
  There are only seven rooms offered, each with a unique style and flair. Rates are quite reasonable and all rooms come with air conditioning and either shared or private bathrooms, as well as queen or king sized beds. Continental breakfast is offered to visitors on Thursday-Sunday in the spring, summer and fall seasons.

Ghost City Inn

• The Ghost City Inn has earned many awards and accolades, and for good reason. The historic inn was built in 1890 and originally served as a boarding house for miners. The elegant inn features a recently renovated interior, with a stunning view of the Verde Valley.
