How to Share Wireless Internet Through an Ethernet Cable

    • 1). Plug one of the computers into the Ethernet cable connected to the modem.

    • 2). Open the "Start" menu and type "Network and Sharing Center" in the search box.

    • 3). Click on the "Network and Sharing Center" link in the results section.

    • 4). Click "Manage Network Connections."

    • 5). Right-click on the icon for the Ethernet adapter and click "Properties."

    • 6). Click on the "Sharing" tab and verify that the "Allow other network users to connect..." check box is not marked and press "OK."

    • 7). Hold down "CTRL" and click on the Ethernet cable adapter and the wireless adapter icons in the "Network Connections" window.

    • 8). Right-click, select "Bridge Connections" and confirm the selection.

    • 9). Open the "Start" menu and click "Connect to."

      Click "Set up a connection or network."

      Select "Set up a wireless ad hoc..." from the list and press "Next."

      Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup wizard.

      Log on to the other computer, select the ad hoc network from the list of available wireless networks and press "Connect."

      Open an Internet browser and test to see if the computer connects to the Internet properly.
