GET GREEN SOLUTIONS
The world is becoming a place of insecurity and uneasiness. We can do alot of things to make this worse or ignore it and let it go on. I have for the last 5 years, been trying ways to conform the new environmental practices and also conserve energy. My company has yet to try to act responsibly towards recycling and protecting the environment, so I have taken it upon myself to do it for them. I started a new filter recycling program for oil filters and used oil. I have changed the way we throw our trash away by recycling the cardboard and aluminum cans. Made sure that wood and grass were put in proper places other than the trash. It seems like no matter what we do, we are not doing enough. We still throw trash along the roads and highways. We still dump our old tires on the side of the road. We have gotten completely lazy all around.
Just look at the people in this country that are obese, on unemployment, or welfare. Our government allows this to happen by putting more people on welfare, subsidising more unemployment, and extending handicap benefits. (Don't go get a job), we will pay you to keep not working. In one instance where the medicare program really works, we tell people to pay for this upfront and we will pay you back. Meanwhile we pay everyone else to sit on there butts. I say "we" because, we elect the people that do this for us. Are you not fed up with this yet? Our economy is going down the crapper and we sit idle and do nothing. This has nothing to do with what I am writing about. Just a rant. Sorry to get off topic.
My main goal is to cut down on the things we do to hurt the environment and cost us valuable tax dollars and here they are.
1. Recycle your used oil. Most of the local auto parts stores will take your oil for free. Live on or near a golf course? The golf course usually has a waste oil barrel. Get in good with the Superintendent and he may let you get rid of it there.
2. Recycle your aluminum cans. Most recycling companies also recycle tin cans. If not, the salvage companies often pay for both tin and aluminum cans. Make a little money for yourself.
3. Recycle your computers, cell phones, batteries, plastic and anything else you can think of. Some states pay for plastic bottles and paper. There are now places where you can sell your old cell phones. Some places pay for your old car batteries.
4. Carpool when you can. Take public transportation. Walk or ride a bike to work when you can. Gas prices keep going up and all we do is complain instead of trying to help.
5. Use green products when possible. There are many out there now and some are a little more expensive but, is it not a small price to pay for your child's future and the future of further generations to come?
6. Save some money and make your family shut down computers, charging devices, lights and televisions at night. You would be surprised at the electrical savings over time.
7. Buy more fuel efficient vehicles. Stores are selling fuel efficient weedeaters, lawn mowers, and cars or trucks.
8. Get off government subsidies. These cost the American taxpayers billions of dollars a year. I realize some people need them. There are so many that do not.
I am currently promoting some relatively new descaling products and some very new degreasers that are safe for the environment. Also a new zebra mussel product that can rid your boat or water system of these pests. Visit my website for more information coming in the next few days.
