How to Change Pixelation on a Picture
- 1). Open the pixelated picture in an image-editing program. Reduce the size of the picture to make the pixelation less obvious to the naked eye. When reducing the picture’s size, make sure the “constrain proportions” option is enabled, to maintain the picture’s proportional height and width.
- 2). Apply a blurring or softening effect with the program’s “blur” or “smudge” tool, to reduce the harsh appearance of the pixelated picture.
- 3). Apply a sharpening effect with the image-editing program’s “sharpen” tool, to restore the crisp edges and other details that may have been lost while softening the picture.
- 4). Save the fixed picture onto your computer, using a file name that is somewhat different from the original picture -- to avoid confusing the adjusted image with the original file.
