Instructions

1

Gather all supplies needed and keep them within reach. Comb the weave pieces smooth and lay them on a table. Extensions will be secured at the base of the client's hair by sewing. The weave is attached to on the scalp braids or cornrows.
2

Clip away all the hair around the hairline. Stay 1 inch away from the hairline at the front, sides, and nape. Always stay 1 inch away from the part.
3

Determine partings by the style of weave you have chosen. Weaves increase the length of hair, or add layers. Most likely the weaves will be attached to the nape section of the head. Measure the width of the weave to determine the length of the cornrows.
4

Cornrow the hair horizontally across the head. These are called tracks. Make sure the tracks are the same width as the the weave. Plan the tracks so the ends of the cornrow will be hidden. Secure the ends with the rubber band. Tracks should be small, about 1/2-1 inch wide.
5

Sew in a 3-piece weave using the track-and-sew method. Start at the lowest cornrow, work from nape to crown. Cut a length of thread twice the length of the weft. Pass the needle through the weft to connect it to the track. Pull the thread through to create a loop.
6

Pass the needle through the loop and wrap the thread around the needle. Pull the loop tight to form a lock stitch. This will secure the ends of the weft to the track. After sewing the last track and weave, it is completed. Take the remaining hair out of the clips. Comb the hair and style.
