How to Connect Four-Channel Amplifiers
- 1). Locate the "Speaker Out" terminals on the amplifier. There should be four of them and each should have a positive "+" and negative "-" terminal.
- 2). Run the speaker wires back from each of the four speakers that are connected to the amplifier. Select the gauge of speaker wire recommended by the manufacturer of the amplifier. The gauge primarily depends on the power of the amp.
- 3). Connect each wire to the appropriate speaker. Each wire is actually two wires; a negative and positive. The positive is usually red and the negative is usually black. Connect the positive wire to the positive terminal on the speaker and connect the negative wire to the negative terminal on the speaker. Do this for each speaker
- 4). Connect the other end of the speaker wire to the appropriate terminal on the amplifier. For example, the front left speaker should be connected to the designated front left output terminal on the amplifier. Again connect, the positive wire to the positive terminal and the negative wire with the negative terminal. Do this for each speaker.
