Do you want to do something different in Seoul, South Korea? If you answered "yes", you should check the COEX mall aquarium out.
The COEX aquarium is situated in down town Seoul in the COEX building, a massive mall and convention centre in one.
Now you may think that if you've seen one aquarium you've seen them all, but this one is bound to surprise you! The aquarium holds 3,000 tons of water and, as the brochure boasts, 650 kinds of living things, 40,000 in total.
It is known as "the classroom under the sea" and is a great example of real edutainment.
It is open 365 days of the year between 10:00am and 8:00pm.
The last entry is at 7:00pm since a tour will take you at least one hour.
Luckily there is a rest area with a very nice little snack bar that isn't too pricey and you will be able to get drinks, hot dogs, ice cream and a few other goodies.
The aquarium theme is "the journey of water" following the flow of water from river to deep sea and the different "water worlds" found along the way.
All information is in both Korean and English so you can fully enjoy all the fantastic displays and of course you will also find a great souvenir shop on your way out.
Tickets are WON 17500 for adults, WON 14500 for youths and WON 11000 for children.
Discounts can be arranged for large groups.
It is well worth it with two floors covering everything from worm farms to a two headed tortoise and everything in between.
