A major problem with having bad drainage in the garden is that lot of plants don't like to be submerged and it may damage them over time.
It can be quite difficult to get rid of bad drainage but there are also some very simple things that you can do.
This article will talk where one of the most basic ways of getting rid of bad drainage - routing the water away from your plants.
While this might sound difficult all it takes is a few to get out and your garden and dig some troughs that take the water away from your plants.
You need to be careful exactly where you are taking the water because you don't want to cause other problems but it can really help your plants if you make sure that the water doesn't flow straight down into the flower beds.
The best thing to do is try and find the nearest drain and route the water to there although this may not be possible.
If you can't find a place to route the water then it is probably not a good idea to use this technique because it may just flow into your neighbour's garden causing them lots of problems.
You should always make sure that you don't cause a new problem by digging channels that if you can find a way to do it safely there is a very effective method of increasing the amount of drainage in your garden.
It is also very simple because you can't really go wrong with it.
