How To’s of Custom Birth Announcements

101 22
Custom birth announcements are a great way to announce the birth of your little bundle of joy. Send announcements as soon after the birth of your baby as possible, preferably within the first month, definitely by the sixth month.

Announce your sweet little girl with a soft pink card and a plush satin ribbon tied at the top. Pastel yellows and lavenders present beautiful and dainty baby girl birth announcements as well. You may choose a themed card such as an angel, princess, fairy, or a little ladybug. More unique and modern cards boast a combination of browns, pinks and greens.

The opening line on your announcement can be simple and sweet, or creative to match your theme.

Announce your handsome son on beautiful cards of blues and greens with accents of brown. This may be the only time in his adorable little life that cute little ribbons are accepted. Tie a matching blue ribbon around the announcement, and adhere it to a complimentary back card. This boasts elegance and style.

Themed boy baby birth announcements such as racecars, sports, fire trucks and airplanes are great to announce your bouncing baby boy. Be creative with your opening lines:

There’s a new player on our team! Announcing…

Ben has a new golfing buddy…

Your baby’s name should stand out on the announcement. Use a different, but complimentary typestyle, with a larger font. Print the name in a vibrant color of ink. You may state the baby’s first and middle name only, with the last name being included in the parent’s signature, or you may choose to print the child’s full name.

Along with your baby’s name, include the birth date, time, weight, and length.

Your signature on the announcement can be as simple as the parent’s names. Many people like to include sibling names as well. You may wish to state expressions of love.

Many companies will allow you to order your announcements early and send the birth statistics later. This is a great opportunity to receive the envelopes early and have them addressed and ready before the baby has arrived.

Be sure to take a complete announcement and its envelope to the post office and request proper postage. Envelopes of different shapes, sizes and/or weights may cost extra postage.
