101 16
Cameroon situated in west of Africa, has history, culture and a perfect example of landscapes that could place it nowhere else but Africa. It is also relatively peaceful and safe and sound by the regional tendency for terror. Although politically rigid, it is not a dictatorship, and although a little sharp, it is nowhere near as corrupt as its neighbors. The government has projected the nation as "Africa in miniature" and highlights its diversity of climate, culture, and geography. The diverse wildlife of Cameroon includes many animals like cheetahs, chimpanzees, elephants, giraffes, gorillas, hippopotami and rhinoceroses. All these factors have made Cameroon a popular tourist destination especially among the safari-goers.

Tourist Destinations in Cameroon includes four general areas: the coast, the major cities, the Western highlands, and the north. The two main beach resort towns in Cameron are Lime and Kribi. Limbe is an English speaking town which is famous for its black volcanic sand while Kribi is a French-speaking city known for its white-sand beaches. Both these towns are also famous for their exotic beaches.

When to Visit:

Cameroon's climate is tropical throughout the year with regional differences. The cool and dry period between November and February is the best time to visit Cameroon. It is best to avoid the harmattan (the winds that blow sands from the Sahara) from December to February, and the rainy season from May to November. The northern part of the country is comprised of seasonally flooded savannahs with little rain falling during the rainy season from July to September and droughts occurring about every two years. In the central part of the country, the highlands, temperatures are milder and there is a relatively high amount of rainfall: the plains south of Mount Cameroon are one of the wettest regions in the world. The coastal plains in the south are determined by a tropical equatorial climate with plenty of precipitation.
