How to Conduct a Pre-Operation Check on a Weed Eater Gas-Powered Trimmer
- 1). Inspect your Weed Eater gas trimmer before each use. Start by checking the fuel tank for leaks. Inspect all fasteners to ensure they are in place and tightened securely.
- 2). Check all parts of the trimmer head for cracks, chips or any other damage. Make sure the trimmer head is installed correctly and all the fasteners are in place and tight. Replace any damaged parts before using the trimmer. Check the trimmer line to ensure that only a cutting line of the correct diameter is installed.
- 3). Check the air filter. Clean it if it is dirty prior to starting the engine. Check the carburetor settings. Make any adjustments to the carburetor prior to starting the engine. Insure the drive shaft housing is properly supported to keep the trimmer line from coming into contact with any foreign object.
- 4). Put on safety goggles. Put on gloves. Start the engine and begin trimming.
