Need For Speed Pro Street Booster Pack Review
EA released the booster pack for PC a short while ago, I believe that for once we got it before the Xbox 360 players. I think that was brilliant and reassuring to know. It shows we havent been forgotten on everything important *cough* Test Drive Unlimited.
I Downloaded the booster pack on Friday, The first things that struck me were the two new tracks and leagues to do and a few new cars. The Tracks are Lipzieg in germany, and a mock up of the Shutokou Highway in japan. The lipzeig test track in Germany is based on porsches test track, which is where they developed the physics for Pro Street and of course where porsche test all there new cars. It's a bit of a unique track to say the least. It was designed, taking the best bits of lots of different racetracks from around the world and putting them together in one big test area.
Most notable corner i've seen so far is one very reminiscent of the corkscrew from Laguna Seca. Theres quite a few corners that make you think Nurburg Ring Nordshleife,of course thats a very hard track to memorize. If your not all up on your racetracks like me, in games you tend to get to know them and of course become quite concious of everything on the track, So far i've had trouble remembering anything on this track, it all feels very random.
I haven't actually tried the Shutokou raceway yet, but what I do know about it is it's very famous in japan. Theres alot of street racers that build their cars for high speed round The C1 and C2 rings of the shutokou motorway system in Tokyo Japan. It's become very sybolic and a breeding place for a lot of legends and myths within the tuner car culture in Japan. So this track is quite a big deal and I'm hopeing EA have faithfully recreated it, well they said they've made a track heavily inspired and based on it, but still I hope it's worthy and good.
The most Notable cars I've seen so far are the Lancia Delta Integrale EVO, Seat Leon Cupra R, Plymouth Roadrunner( It doesn't seem to have the massive wing though). Theres Supposed to be quite a few new exotics, none of which i have seen yet, I'm assuming they are an unlock.
I can believe it's all in there because the filesize was 228mb, took a while to download. I downloaded the US retail patch and installed it on the EU version, It all runs fine and it's in there which is good. I even got a notice to tell me it was a new version and a suceesful upgrade
