Don"t Pay to Fix Your Credit (Until You Understand THIS!)
And the good news, LEGAL credit restoration DOES work, it does work relatively fast, and it can radically change your life, and your financial future in a hurry.
But, there are a few simple but very important considerations every consumer who has a low credit score SHOULD be aware of, straight away.
1 - You CAN fix your credit by yourself if you choose.
You don't need to hire a "pro" to do the work for you, and often, if you know what you're doing, self help credit restoration is often the very BEST solution for many.
(mostly for folks who are self motivated, eager to learn and are willing to due the actual leg work, and the follow up work required to get a big bump, and boost to your credit score) 2 - All companies that "fix" consumer credit are NOT created equal As a matter of fact, the unfortunate truth is that there are lots of scam artists, and fly by night boiler room operations in the credit restoration industry, and these folks can often do more HARM to your credit report, than good.
How? Often by recommending products and services or strategies that may help THEM pad their bank account, but cause you greater problems down the road.
(especially folks who recommend making changes to the ID number you use to apply for credit, commonly called file segregation, or CPN provider services) It's very important to remember that if you DO use professional credit repair services, there ARE in fact important laws, and rights that govern your relationship with anyone who does this work for a fee.
The CROA (credit repair organizations act) was especially created to protect consumers from fraudulent, and predatory credit repair companies, and it does a GREAT job of keeping the con artists out of business, and out of YOUR wallet as well.
Lastly, remember that all good credit repair companies will NOT guarantee you a certain outcome, or to remove a certain amount of negative information from your file.
It's actually NOT legal to promise to remove specific items from your report, and this is a BIG red flag if you see it advertised as well.
(avoid any company that promises to do ANYTHING other than aggressively apply the full force of the law in your behalf, as that's what the very BEST credit repair companies do..
..
and do VERY well to boot!)
