Getting a Non-profit grant in Georgia requires preparation, searching for a funder, writing grant proposals, completing applications and following up with the granter. There are many foundations that will provide money to organizations who have a good business plan that will impact communities in a positive and constructive way. - The Community Foundation of Atlanta Common Good Funds, offers grant programs with unrestricted dollars to non-profit organizations in their 23 county region. The funds allow non-profit organizations to apply for grants through a competitive process that rigorously accesses the non-profits based on the community need and the strength of the applicants' proposals.
The Common Good Fund not only considers non-profits in education, health, youth and community and economic development, but also non-profits that effectively offer resources for professional development and creative solutions to civic issues.
Requirements for the Common Good Funds grants are as follows: You must be located in the foundation's 23-county service area; be classified by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service under Section 501(c)(3) of the I.R.S. code as a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, registered with the Georgia Secretary of State as a non-profit, a minimum of two-year operating history, annual operating budget more than $100,000 and less than $15 million, at least one full-time paid employee, and a written strategic or business plan.

info@cfgreateratlanta.org - Community Foundation of Central Georgia (CFCG) Responsive Grant Program gives grants to non-profits that improve the quality of life in Central Georgia. Considerations are given to organizations that reach a large community segment, focus on needs that are not currently being met by existing non-profits, are creative and encourage self-help to disadvantaged or disabled individuals.
There is limited grant money available for Baldwin, Butts, Coffee, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Lamar, Laurens, Monroe, Peach, Taylor, Twiggs, Upson and Wilkinson county. Most of the funding is provided to non-profits in Bibb County. The CFCG will only accept one application per year from any one non-profit organization.
To apply, write a proposal for your organization and demonstrate your benefit to the quality of life in Central Georgia. The application deadlines are April 15th and October 1st. You will be notified of the Board's decision in late January for the October deadline and in late July for the April deadline.

478-750-9338 - Grants for Green helps non-profit organizations in Atlanta, Georgia by providing environmental knowledge and funding to non-profits. The goal is to give Atlanta non-profits the opportunity to build or remodel work places to make them healthier and energy and water efficient. Grants for Greens receives support from the Kendeda Fund, a respected grantmaker and community leader. The Grants to Green Program includes two components: Energy-efficiency Assessments provided by Southface and Implementation Grants awarded by The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta.
In the Implementation Grant phase, your non-profit organization receives funding to assist with the costs of upgrading new or existing buildings to environmentally efficient standards. The grant pays for the cost of the renovation or new construction.
You can apply for the Grants for Greens just by writing a Letter of Intent (LOI)and emailing it to Grantstogreen@cfgreateratlanta.org. The Grants to Green staff will review your LOI and invite your organization to submit final applications. There is no set deadline. Please contact Southface for more information.
