How to Get Rosettes off the Iron
- 1). Submerge your rosette iron in the boiling oil before you dip it in the batter. Allow it to sit for a minute or so. The heat will help the batter attach to the iron but the film of oil will ensure it does not stick at the end.
- 2). Dip your iron into the batter then into the oil. Keep it submerged in the oil until the batter is cooked through totally. You will know this is the case when the batter is puffed up around the edge of the iron.
- 3). Remove the iron from the oil and hold it over a paper towel to let any excess oil drip off. Give the iron a quick tap on the worksurface and the rosette should slide out. If it does not, wait for the batter to cool and then pry it off carefully with a wooden spoon.
