They can multiply fast so once an infestation is confirmed; bed bug treatment should be immediate.
These wingless insects are small, and flat.
They are as small as a grain of rice and they can hide anywhere.
Bed mite treatment must be thorough and precise.
All areas of the house must be considered to totally eradicate bed mites.
Bed Mite Specific Insecticides Professional pest control companies primarily use chemical insecticides for bed bug treatment.
Although proven safe for humans and animals, it is recommended to avoid a bed mite treated area for at least 48 hours after bed bug treatment.
There are four ways an insecticide works
  1. Dust Insecticide - This form of bedbug treatment contains ground glass or powder that acts abrasively against the bed bug or dries them out, slowly killing them.
In the early 20th century, ground pepper was used as a dust insecticide.
Newer more modern kinds have surfaced and are more effective bed mite treatments than ground pepper.
  2. Contact Insecticide - These are insecticides that contain pyrethroids or chlorfenapyr that kill bugs on contact.
This kind of bed bug treatment necessitate finding and locating the breeding ground first prior to use.
Contact insecticide can also be used on suspected areas where these pests can reside.
  3. Insect Growth Regulators - These are long term bed mite treatments.
A growth regulator inhibits the reproductive cycle of these pests, preventing it from multiplying.
This kind of bed bug treatment does not immediately get rid of these pests but will dramatically reduce the population over a period of time.
  4. Poisonous Gas - This drastic bed bug treatment can only be done by licensed professionals and with for some areas, need special permits.
The entire area is fumigated with poisonous gas to kill all the pests that are present.
Insect baits and traps doesn't work well with these pests because their primary food source is fresh blood.
Consulting with a professional pest control company can educate the homeowner on the proper way of bed mite treatment.
This will also help them get rid of the problem as soon and as effective as possible.
Once a house is clear of bed mites does not mean that it is free from future infestations.
