Make Sure Your Personal Injury Claims Are Properly Managed

102 23
Insurance is a multi-billion pound business and does in fact support whole economies as nearly all individuals have one or several types of insurance. In the U.K. it is compulsory to pay National Insurance on earnings and this is supposed to support the NHS as well as providing for our old age pension.

Unfortunately successive governments have been unable to keep their greedy hands off the pots of money lying in the National Insurance bank account and just like private pensions which we were all encouraged to contribute towards, one recent useless Chancellor of the Exchequer taxed, or 'robbed' us all of the hard earned benefits.

Apart from National Insurance there are thirty one million cars on the roads of Britain and all these should be insured so if we assume there are a certain number of people with two cars, that still means about twenty five million of us have car insurance.

On top of these two obvious examples of insurance there is also house insurance, private health insurance, job security insurance and public liability insurance for self-employed and employers. In total this makes the insurance market a massive part of the economics of many countries.

Personal injury insurance and the personal injury claims business is on its own worth about twenty billion pounds in premiums in the U.K. As with any insurance claim it is essential firstly to be with the right company to suit your requirements and secondly to know how to deal with them when the time comes and you need to make a claim.

There are companies which specialise in dealing with claims on behalf of the individual and there is good reason for this. In your lifetime you may make few if any claims against the insurers so when the time comes to do so you enter the fray almost like the lamb to the slaughter.

Insurance companies are there to make a profit and if they think they can get away with it they will often not pay out all that you are entitled to. Established third party claimants know from experience fairly accurately what you are entitled to if for instance you have a particular injury from a road traffic accident.

Dealing directly with the insurers the claimant may think an offer of say one thousand pounds for a particular injury is generous. In fact this first offer may not necessarily be the one to accept and if the claimant had gone through a third party Claims Company they would probably reject the offer. Alternatively should the insurance company know they are dealing with an established professional third party claims company acting on behalf of an individual claimant the chances are they will have come up with the correct offer of two thousand pounds and saved everyone a lot of time and effort.
