How to Upgrade an Asus EEE PC Hard Drive
- 1). Shut down the Asus EeePC if it is currently running. Leave the computer plugged in to ground the device and prevent static build-up.
- 2). Flip the Asus EeePC upside down on a flat working surface.
- 3). Identify the hard drive slot. It is a large square panel roughly in the center of the computer held closed by one or two screws, depending on the specific EeePC model.
- 4). Remove the screws from the hard drive slot using a Phillips screwdriver.
- 5). Remove the hard drive panel and set aside.
- 6). Identify the hard drive. A metal bracket holds the hard drive in place with four screws and is located just above the system RAM.
- 7). Remove the screws from the hard drive bracket using a Phillips screwdriver.

Place the old hard drive in a safe place in case it is needed to restore files or in the event that the new hard drive is defective. - 13
Attach the bottom section of the hard drive bracket to the new hard drive. - 14
Place the hard drive into the computer with the bottom section of the bracket facing down. - 15
Slide the hard drive gently into the SATA port, ensuring that it is firmly connected. - 16
Replace the top section of the hard drive bracket and the hard drive panel once the new hard drive is connected.
