My iPhone Stopped Vibrating
- IPhone comes with a variety of ringtones that sound for incoming calls; however, you can set your phone to vibrate. By default, iPhone vibrates when it's in ring mode or silent mode. If the vibrate setting isn't enabled, your phone won't vibrate for incoming calls, SMS and MMS Messages. You can enable the vibrate setting by selecting ring mode or silent mode from the "Sound Settings." In addition, pushing the "Ring/Silent" switch found on the left side of the phone to "Silent mode" will enable the vibrate setting.
- If your iPhone isn't vibrating, restarting it might solve the problem. Restarting the phone resets the iOS and can be beneficial if the device is experiencing technical difficulty. To reset your iPhone, pressing and holding the "Sleep/Wake" button for a few seconds will display the red "Slide to power off" slider. Slide the slider to turn off your iPhone, and then press and hold the "Sleep/Wake" button again until the Apple logo appears on the display.
- If your iPhone is still not vibrating when a call or message comes in, reset it. According to Apple, you should reset your iPhone only if it's no longer responding to a restart. To reset your iPhone, press and hold the "Sleep/Wake" and "Home" buttons together for at least 10 seconds or until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Keep in mind that resetting your phone may clear custom settings.
- Restoring your iPhone with iTunes may be necessary if the device still isn't performing well. Keep in mind that performing a system restore erases saved data and clears custom settings, so creating a backup copy of your files and contacts with iTunes is advisable. Proceed to restore your iPhone with iTunes after creating a backup copy. During the restore process, iTunes will ask if you want to perform the restore process using your backup copy or a new iOS update.
