Billy Bob Thornton Will Star in "Peace Like a River"
Leif Enger's book "Peace Like a River" is being adapted into a movie for Warner Bros. Pictures set to star Billy Bob Thorton.
Enger's book follows the story of a small-town Minnesota family in the early 60s and their dealings with two neighborhood bullies. Arrested after gunning down the young thugs, the family's oldest son, Davy, breaks out of jail and goes on the lam. The rest of the family then packs up and sets out to search for the missing outlaw.
Kathy McWorter adapted the screenplay and Brad Pitt, David Brown and Kit Golden will produce "Peace Like a River."
Billy Bob Thornton will next be seen starring in the remake of "Bad News Bears," filling the role Walter Matthau made famous in the original comedy movie. Thornton's currently filming "Mr Woodcock" for New Line Cinema and just wrapped production on "Ice Harvest," directed by Harold Ramis.
