Bright and smart children make a glorious tomorrow. Perhaps that is why one spends so much time in choosing the right school and making sure that the teachers are exceeding expectations. For a parent or a teacher it is really crucial to enhance the ward's learning experience simply by making books an integral part of their lives.  Informative , engaging and interactive books.

A child's education determines his future and books are the building blocks for it. Parents and teachers have a wide variety of children books to choose from for young children. By exposing kids to different kinds of books allows them to have different reading and learning experiences. Just as there are genres for adult readers, many types of children's books are available for kids. Following is a brief discussion of various genres and types of books that should be offered to young children:

Story Books for Kids:

Reading stories to kids fetches constructive results. Reading stories with children introduces them to the complex nature of language and helps them in acquiring important language skills. Parents should try to include a variety of books in their read aloud experience.

Many of the stories have a moral concept or theme. Most folk tales and fables have some cultural context or historical aspect that helps children learn about diverse cultures and experiences.

Alphabet Books:

Alphabet or ABC books are used to help children recognise letters and realize that letters are used in language.There are a wide range of alphabet books available that show the letter and objects beginning with the letter. Some alphabet books are themed and use familiar and interesting objects to highlight the alphabet such as fruits, vegetables, colours, animals or the flowers. Indeed an interactive and pictorial way to make learning fun for kids.

Counting Books:

Counting books for young children are important because they introduce the language associated with numbers. They also help pre-schoolers begin to understand the concept that numbers are symbols for counting, just as letters are symbols for sounds and word.

Rhyming Books:

These are books with rhyming language. They're great for younger kids because it makes reading fun and they learn from the repetitive sounds. Children raised on nursery rhymes are most likely to pass these tales on to their children.

Children Activity Books :

These books have the reader engage in some form of activity related to the story. (Touch your nose, clap your hands, make animal noises, etc.) Children Activity Books are great because it gets the children involved in learning.

Picture story books:

Text and illustrations tell the story in picture story books.  This type of book is especially appropriate for young children because the colourful and clear illustrations and artwork support a simple story line.

Non-fiction Stories:

For a bit older children, books based around real inspiring characters, such as Mahatma Gandhi, are very helpful. These books are good for building character as these are based on reality and children can easily connect to it.
