How to Connect a PS3 to a PC to Watch Videos
- 1). Turn on your computer. Let the computer boot to the main Windows screen and then log in under your name.
- 2). Turn on your Playstation 3 by running your finger over the touch-sensitive button on the front of the unit. Log in under your primary name on the PS3.
- 3). Download Windows Media Player 11 (see the Resources section of this article for a link) to your desktop. Double-click on the icon and run the installation. Click through the prompts until the installation is done.
- 4). Open the program on your computer. Go to the "Tools" section on the top right side of the screen. Click on "Options" and then click on "Library."
- 5). Click on "Configure Sharing." Check the box that says "Allow Sharing" and you will see "Unknown Device" or "Playstation 3" listed after you check the box.
- 6). Click on the "Sharing" folder and pull up your iTunes folder or any other folder in which you have videos. Select that folder to stream to your PS3.
- 7). Scroll across the home menu on the Playstation 3 until you come to "Videos." Press down on the "D" pad of your controller until you see the media server listed.
- 8). Click on "Configure Sharing." Check the box that says "Allow Sharing" and you will see "Unknown Device" or "Playstation 3" listed after you check the box.
- 9). Click on the media server and pick the video you want to watch.
