There are few things that call the average hunter like Michigan deer hunting.
Particularly in northern Michigan, there are many woods and forests just teeming with deer, and you won't have any problem finding them on your trip.
Here are some tips and info to help you get the most of your deer hunting trip, and ensure you don't come home empty handed.
First off, while obviously the entire northern section offers great deer hunting opportunities, there are some that stand head and shoulders above the rest.
The first is called antler bay trophy whitetail ranch.
While it is a tongue twister, this is also one of the most popularly deer hunting locations in the area, as it owns sixteen hundred acres, and you can be sure to find many deer if you hunt here.
In addition, they offer guided hunting trips, and even if you have been hunting for quite some time, you can benefit from going on one of these, simply because they will take you to the best locations for deer on the ranch.
As I always say, you can be the best hunter in the world, but it doesn't matter if you are in an area where there are no animals to hunt.
If you are a new hunter, you can benefit from the tips the deer hunting guides will give you, and either way, I'd highly recommend them.
Yes, they will cost a bit more than going by yourself, but you also have a much greater chance of success.
Next up, we have the ever popular deer creek hunt club, which sits on about five hundred acres, and is certainly known for the plentiful deer that reside there.
Again, they offer guided hunting as well, and I'd recommend you at least check them out.
Some of the other places you should consider going to are Algonac kicked State Park, Allegan State game area, Bald Mountain Recreation Area, Bay City Recreation Area, Bear Creek Hunt club, and Bear's Nine Pines Resort.
While these places generally don't have any guided trips, they still have many great deer spots available, and you might also experience less competition here, since they cover a bigger area, and therefore you will have less hunters to compete with.
While there are a ton of top notch hunting spots in the state, these are some ones you should start out with, in no particular order, and branch out from there.
If you are really in for adventure, you might consider going to one of the state parks I listed above, and simply try and find the best spots yourself, because although this is more of a crapshoot, if you search around enough you can often times find some hidden gems that few hunters know about, off the beaten path.
The truth is, few things can rival Michigan deer hunting, and if you are considering going on a deer hunting the state in the near future, stop thinking about it, and just do it! it will be an experience you won't soon forget.
