What to Say on a Business Card
- The name of your company or organization should be on the card, central to the design. If you have a logo, be sure to use it. The logo and name will typically be bigger than the rest of the text on the card, making it the focus of the card. This tells potential customers who they are dealing with. It also helps keep your company name in the forefront of their minds.
- The card should offer every opportunity for someone to contact you without having to look for the information elsewhere. Place your contact information on the card, usually in one of the upper corners. Contact information should include the name of the contact person, physical address, web address, phone and fax numbers, and an email address.
- If you have a slogan for your business or organization, you can place it directly under the company name or logo. You can also place it along the bottom of the card. In some cases, you can place the slogan to the left or right of the business name. Many business card designs place quotation marks around a slogan.
- Consider listing three or four of your main products or services on the card as well, to give customers an idea what you offer. These products and services can be separated by a bullet symbol or commas. For two-sided business cards, many designs include a list of products or services on the back side of the business card.
