The Perfect Burger - Every Time
For those of you who missed last week's Wisdom, I wrote about the perfect hot-fudge sundae.
This week I'm stepping it up to burgers! Like Jimmy Buffett stated so perfectly in his famous song, Cheeseburger In Paradise: "I like mine with lettuce and tomato, Heinz 57 and French-fried potatoes, Big Kosher pickle and a cold draft beer...
" No matter how you like your burger, it's a national treasure.
And one which, by the way, the little town of Seymour, Wisconsin, just fifteen minutes from my home, claims they invented.
Apparently there is a national debate on what state and town gets credit for this culinary discovery.
But who invented the first hamburger is perhaps less significant than who mastered it: Ray Kroc.
Ray Kroc franchised the McDonald's brand as we know it.
From the beginning he considered it a "system" and not just a restaurant.
The goal: Create a consistent burger every time through a turnkey system so simple a nineteen year old kid could manage and operate it.
I recently read of a letter Ray wrote to Walt Disney when Walt was developing Disneyland in California.
He wrote: "Mr.
Disney, I would like to engage in a conversation with you in regards to the McDonald's System I recently acquired being a part of your park.
" Love McDonald's burger or hate it, you can't argue with the success of this franchise of over 30,000 strong.
Ray envisioned the whole thing as he was creating it.
He had incredible vision and foresight.
The system is the solution, Ray Kroc would say, and this was this story that inspired me to create the Prophit Marketing System.
