Transfer between the principal Dutch airport, Schiphol, and the low-cost carrier hub Eindhoven.

106 30

While Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is the country's chief airport, conveniently located just 15 minutes from Amsterdam, the favorite airport of low-cost carriers - specifically Ryanair, but also Transavia, Wizzair and others - is still Eindhoven Airport, in the southern province of North Brabant. This means that travelers who arrive from outside Europe will most likely land in Schiphol Airport, but it doesn't mean that they can't continue their journey with a low-cost carrier out of Eindhoven.

Find out how to travel between Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and Eindhoven Airport by public transit or shuttle bus below.

Schiphol Airport to Eindhoven Airport by Public Transit
From Station Schiphol, it takes only one transfer to reach Eindhoven Airport. Take the Intercity train in the direction of Heerlen for a direct connection to Station Eindhoven, the main railway station of the city of Eindhoven. Catch bus 400 (Airport Shuttle) or 401 (direction: Airport via Meerhoven) from the bus platforms directly outside the station. The trip takes just under two hours. Find the latest public transit schedules on the Dutch travel advice site 9292, as well as custom transportation directions between the two airports.

Schiphol Airport to Eindhoven Airport by Shuttle Bus
The AirExpressBus, a specialized airport shuttle bus, travels between Amsterdam Center and Eindhoven, but it doesn't stop specifically at Schiphol Airport.

To use this option, take the Intercity train in the direction of Amsterdam Centraal or Lelylaan Centrum, or the Sprinter in the direction of Amersfoort Vathorst. The shuttle bus stops just across from Amsterdam Central Station, in front of Holland International canal cruises on Prins Hendrikkade; from the south (main) entrance to the station, cross to the other side of the water to find the bus stop.

Shuttle bus tickets must be purchased in advance, either online via the AirExpressBus website, or at one of the sales points listed on the website.
