Mosquito Allergies - A Biting Pain

Mosquito allergies can be a very biting pain, and not just at the point of insertion. They can be an irritating pain with that crazy itch, they can be a lumpy pain and an overall pain in the bottom end. Allergies can also be mild and just slightly irritating for a few minutes, or hours but less commonly, they can also be very serious for some who have an allergy to mosquitoes. Mosquito allergies can turn a bite into a death warrant; unless treated right away.

There are solutions you can rub or apply to mosquito bites to speed up the healing from the irritation. Other simple methods that can be carried out at home quite effectively with ingredients you already have at home, such as vinegar and baking soda.

NORMALLY...but some things just are not normal

Typically after a few days the mosquito bite is forgotten, the little bump went away, the itching stopped. There are many precautions that can be taken to prevent mosquito bites, and consumers spend millions of dollars each year for this very purpose. The majority of them work, but to anyone that suffers from mosquito allergies most of these solutions will not be effective. If the bites start getting infected this means the allergy medicine has not worked and then it becomes a different issue. The best solution is to visit the doctor or pharmacist and get a correct formula of antihistamine or other stronger cure that may be behind the counter.

Most pharmacists can help in the department of mosquito allergies and will be able to offer specific medication and advice about treatment. For the basic home treatment wash the bite, get rid of the bacteria and try to avoid scratching. Scratching could lead to infection and bleeding so TRY not to scratch. Calamine lotion is good to help with that excruciating itch. Cortisone cream is also a good one for relieving the itch. Cover them if you have to. Try a topical anaesthetic cream it will remove the itch and feeling in the area of the bite.

Take Immediate Action to Severe Reactions

Do not ignore sever reactions to mosquito bites. To begin with try anti inflammatory medication those that will reduce redness, pain and hopefully swelling. These could include Dristan, Ibuprofen, and Advil. If you are feeling dizzy or lightheaded, nauseous, or you feel any other abnormality, you should attend your doctor right away. Some of the severe reactions you may experience could develop into serious infections, illness and brain damage if the bite is on the face.
Mosquito allergies can be dangerous. If you are visiting a country where you know you will encounter mosquitoes use a strong anti bug cream before you go out, and take it with you, this could help prevent a bite. If you are unfortunate enough to get a serious bite, visit the local doctor for treatment and medication. If you go knowing you are allergic to mosquitoes you should request a prescription before leaving.
