How to Install Modem Software
- 1). Click the "Start" button. Then click the "Control Panel" icon on the Start menu. This opens the Control Panel window.
- 2). Click the "Switch to Classic View" link in the left-side navigation pane of the Control Panel window if the window is not already set to classic view. When the window is set to classic view, the "System" icon will be displayed in the right-side pane.
- 3). Double-click the "System" icon. This opens the System Properties window.
- 4). Click the "Hardware" tab in the System Properties window. Then click the "Device Manager" button. This opens the Device Manager window.
- 5). Click the + sign next to the "Modems" icon in the list of devices in the Device Manager window. Double-click the icon for the modem you installed and for which you want to add a driver. This opens the Modem Properties window.
- 6). Click the "Driver" tab in the Modem Properties window. Then click the "Update Driver" button. This opens the Hardware Update Wizard. Follow the prompts in the wizard to install the driver for your modem and complete the process.
