    • 1). Remove any removable seat covers or rugs from the camper and wash them in your washing machine with detergent and one cup of white vinegar. The vinegar will aid in killing off mildew or bacteria while adding a fresh scent to items. Hang the out to dry.

    • 2). Pour baking soda on all floors and furniture in your camper and leave it sitting overnight with the windows open, if possible. Vacuum up the baking soda the next day. This will help freshen the upholstery that cannot be removed.

    • 3). Clean any hard surfaces such as kitchen counters, bathroom fixtures or windows with a multipurpose cleaner. Mop floors as well with either a floor cleaner or some white vinegar. Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar and spray the hard surfaces. Leave for five minutes then wipe away.

    • 4). Set out bowls of moisture-eating crystals throughout the camper. Put one in the dining area, bathroom, bed area and kitchen. Let the bowls sit out overnight or for longer. If you are dealing with a strong mildew or damp smell, repeat this for another night or two.

    • 5). Set out bowls of vinegar as well as bowls of baking soda and leave overnight with the windows open, if possible. This will help eliminate any residual odors once the camper has been thoroughly cleaned and any moisture has been eliminated.
