How to Convert an FLV to MP3 With VideoLAN
- 1). Launch VLC Media Player. Click the "Media" tab at the top left of VLC's main screen and select the "Advanced Open File" option.
- 2). Click the "File" tab in the Open Media window. Click the "Add" button on the left side of the window to enter a pop-up Open screen. Navigate to your input FLV file on your computer and click "Open" to load your FLV in the Open Media window.
- 3). Click the arrow next to the drop-down "Play" button at the bottom of the screen and select the "Convert/Save" option to enter the Convert window.
- 4). Click the "Browse" button, located to the right of the Destination File field. Choose an output location on your hard drive to save your MP3 file to. Name your file, including the .mp3 file extension. Failure to give a file extension causes VLC Media Player to save your file incorrectly. Click the "Save" button to return to the Convert window.
- 5). Click the "Profile" drop-down box and select the "Audio --- MP3" option. Click the "Save" button to extract and convert your Flash video to MP3 format.
