Fight Anxiety - The Steps to Tackle Anxiety

103 9
Are you a sufferer of anxiety? Anxiety is a normal part of life but there's a point where it's no longer acceptable.
That point is reached once it starts to disrupt your life.
Anxiety Disorder affects many people, in fact, it's quite common for a person to experience an anxiety disorder at some point in their life.
But that also means that you can fight the anxiety and overcome your fears.
The first step to tackling anxiety is to learn to recognise it.
Anxiety can appear in two forms: via bodily sensations (such as a headache or a stomach ache) or purely as anxious thoughts.
Everybody recognises anxious thoughts but most people aren't aware of the impact anxiety can have on the body.
It's important to recognise when you're merely anxious.
Is there a big stressful event coming up? Once you recognise the anxiety, it's time to think about relaxing! You can't believe how many anxious people I know are workaholics as well.
They may love their jobs, but they don't realise the impacts it has on their body.
Take the time to treat yourself.
Maybe you just need to do some hiking, or go out with your friends.
Just make sure it's something that you enjoy! If you are already taking the time out of your busy life to relax, then you need to start looking at your fears behind the anxiety.
What is it that's making you anxious? Is it something that you can control? If yes, then think about similar situations in which you were able to overcome.
Write down your fears, and the times that you were able to overcome them.
This is an attempt to get you to look at your anxiety objectively.
This is a key part to fight anxiety and also one of the most difficult.
Sometimes writing down your anxiety can help you take a more objective view.
Next, you need to look at shifting your focus on something positive.
Don't worry about something you can't control.
Try to distract yourself from negative thoughts.
Create positive situations that allow you to feel good and relaxed.
If you're still struggling to ignore those negative thoughts, then start doing some breathing exercises: inhale slowly...
pause for 3 seconds, and exhale slowly.
Many people turn to therapy for treatment to deal with their anxiety.
While this is needed for some, for others this is not an option.
Therapy is extremely costly, and it's important to note that it's not always a long-term solution.
Learning about anxiety can have a direct impact on your anxiety.
