How to Disassemble a Gateway Solo Pro 9300
- 1). Shut down the computer and remove all cables connected the computer, including the power cable.
- 2). Close the screen and turn over the computer so the bottom is facing upward.
- 3). Slide the battery release latch and pry the battery from the computer using the tips of your fingers. With the front of the computer facing you, the battery release latch is located roughly in the center of bottom of the computer.
- 4). Slide and hold the CD/DVD drive release latch, located in the back right of the computer. Carefully slide out the CD/DVD drive from the laptop.
- 5). Slide and hold the modular bay release latch, located just behind the battery release latch. Carefully slide out the modular bay from the side of the laptop next to the CD/DVD drive.
- 6). Unscrew the memory bay cover screws with the Phillips head screwdriver. The memory bay is located near the middle, toward the back of the bottom of the laptop.
- 7). Lift off the lid of the memory bay cover. Push apart the clips holding down the memory module. The module will slide upward; gently pull it out of the computer.
- 8). Undo the screws holding down the silver hard drive now visible in the area previously occupied by the modular bay removed in step 5. Slide the drive to the left to remove it from its connections, then lift it out of the computer.
- 9). Press the PC Card release button on the side of the computer, if a PC Card is inserted. The card will pop out so you can remove the pull it out of the computer.
