Ideas for a Girl's 15 Year Birthday
- Turn a special 15th birthday gift into a way for your teen and her friends to get together. Give your just-turned-15-year-old daughter a budget and some guidelines and let her and her friends redecorate her bedroom. The girls can spend the day painting, the night watching a movie marathon and the next morning putting the room back together. Depending on your budget, you can let her choose her flooring, new furniture and brand new accessories for the entire bedroom. If your budget is a bit more limited, consider letting your teen and her friends refinish and rearrange her furniture, paint and add a few new accessories to her room.
- Plan a trip for your daughter and her friends if she's more of an adventurous girl. Accompany the girls on a weekend-long camping trip, white water rafting, rock climbing, skiing or hiking trip. Have a certified trainer or instructor join your group to teach the girls how to properly execute the activity of your daughter's choice. If that's a bit too adventurous, let the girls camp in your backyard or rent an ice skating rink for a few hours.
- Host a pampering party if your 15-year-old is a diva who's always in the mirror fixing her makeup or trying to set the latest fashion trend in her school. A spa-themed party can include the girls getting facials, manicures and pedicures from a professional or a group of beauty school students. A less expensive option is to let the girls paint each other's nails and do each other's makeup. The party can take place in your home, a spa or a hotel suite. Include goodies, such as fresh fruit and sparkling water for health-conscious teens or junk food snacks if your teen has a sweet tooth. Alternatively, the girls can split into groups to turn random fabric into a runway look in a mock fashion show.
- Host a co-ed party if your daughter hasn't had one yet. A black-and-white or glow-in-the-dark party set the tone for a dance-style party without creating too much pressure on guests. Alternatively, host a "throwback" party with retro games and a candy bar filled with bright, colorful candy from decades ago. A casino theme may be more suited to your daughter if she doesn't want the pressure of a dance party at all. Host the party on a riverboat, at a hall or your home. Ask friends and relatives to come dressed as dealers and cocktail waitresses for a real casino feel.
