It was part of God's plan to bring about the suffering in the world today so that one group will discover the way back to the Spirit and find the truth.
They are called the Children of God or the House of Israel.
They have nothing to do with the Jews but are those who are the beginning of the Day of the Lord they were seeded with Spirit and allowed to grow.
Gardeners know that when you plant seeds you have to protect them from the weeds and if that doesn't happen then only the strongest among them will survive.
To discover which are the strongest then you let the things that will grow there take over and in the end if some have survived then they are the ones worth hanging onto.
This is basic science and how many strains of new and stronger plants have been developed.
The Old Testament prophecies talks about God's garden in much the same way.
In Isaiah 5:7 states that the vineyard of the House of God is the house of Israel.
It also predicts that when it was inspected it was corrupted and oppressed while the fruit was bitter and wild.
So the fence was removed and it was allowed to be eaten up, that is absorbed by the other things and trodden down so that it could not be found, as stated in Isaiah 5: 4-6.
In this way the children of the Spirit went into captivity and they became famished and thirsty for spiritual power.
As it was withheld they searched longer and harder until eventually they find a little moisture within their hearts and nurture it back.
That is how the redeemed of the Lord are coming back to the Spirit and finding Mount Zion.
