How to Remove a Lift-Up Type Shower Diverter
- 1). Remove the Allen screw that secures the diverter to the shower wall. The screw is within a small slot on the underside of the spout. Rotate the screw counterclockwise with an Allen wrench to remove it.
- 2). Wrap the jaws of a pipe wrench with masking tape or fold a cloth around the spout to protect the diverter's finish.
- 3). Grasp the base of the spout, where the spout meets the shower wall, with a pipe wrench.
- 4). Turn the spout counterclockwise with the pipe wrench until the spout detaches from its pipe.
